Weekly Dances

Hello Dancers and welcome to our 2018-19 Spring season! Our first dance takes place Friday, April 5th, and the season will continue through May 24th! Lessons start at 7:30 pm, and the social dance will begin at 8:30 pm. We have moved to Global Scholars Hall room 123 and all of our dances will be free of charge to both students and community members! We hope to see you there!

A note: Sadly, we will not be offering our Intermediate 'Beyond Basics' Lessons this term as we were unable to secure a room near Global Scholars Hall room 123 that was not carpeted.  For those who would like to improve upon their basic steps in the weeks to come, we always offer our Beginner's Box during our dances where any of the officers would be more than happy to teach you a few new moves!

Save the date: May 24th is our Spring Formal

Important Announcements:

 1. Workshop: Ready to learn two styles of dance in one day? Join us Saturday, April 13th from 1-5:30 pm in the Global Scholars Hall Great Room (room 123) for a West Coast Swing and Bachata workshop taught by the lovely Joy Davina! The lessons will consist of a beginner class followed by an intermediate class, so it's the perfect time to master those dance moves! After the lessons, from 5:30-7 pm, stick around for some social dancing to practice your new skills! This event is free for everyone and no partner is necessary! Snacks will be provided!

2. Hello dancers! We have big news that we would like to share with you. Firstly, we thank you for your continual support and for your time that you spend dancing with us. For this upcoming year, we will not be hosting our dance events in Gerlinger Hall, as we usually do. Due to financial limitations that the Club has been facing for a long time, we will be hosting in Global Scholars Hall’s Great Room (123). However, the Winter Formal will be held in Gerlinger Hall! Our events will still be Friday nights, starting at 7:30 pm with the lesson and social dancing at 8:30 pm. While the room is not as wonderful as the Gerlinger ballroom, it will be available to us as a club, ensuring that we are around for years to come. We will be trying our best to move back into Gerlinger in the Fall. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and our membership email for details as we finalize them. Thank you, from your Oregon Ballroom Dance Club team.
